If you're not off to Carlisle this weekend but still want some football, then pop down to the Dripping Pan.

Lewes FC are celebrating their 125th birthday so as well as the usual football match, this time against Chelmsford City, there is a host of other events going on too.

For starters, the Football Focus cameras will be in attendance to film a feature on the club's move into community ownership.

John Henty, who many of you will be familiar with as Goldstone tannoy man in the mid 70's (ignore his stint behind the mic at Palace!) will be doing the honours at the Pan, whilst there is live music from Tab Hunter and Ben Paley.

There will be sidestalls and fun for the kids, who will also be asked to form a Guard of Honour to welcome the players if they are wearing red and black.

On the pitch, we've struggled a bit with injuries since pre-season, but players are returning and it's also a chance for you to see on-loan Albion youngster Leon Redwood who made a solid debut for us last weekend at Eastleigh.

Gates open at 1pm and entry for adults is £10, with kids going free.

****

Tomorrow night (Friday) we have another Beer Festival at the Pan where, for all you Harveys fans out there, we will be launching the Lewes FC ale, a special commemorative brew from Harveys which will also be available at the Chelmsford game.

Beers from breweries such as Dark Star, Beachy Head, Crouch Vale and Skinners will be available as well as a selection of ciders and gourmet food.

Tickets are available from the Gardener's Arms in the Cliffe or the Lewes Tourist Office next to the Town Hall for £5, or £6 on the door.

Beer is £2.50 a pint and the entry price includes a free commemorative beer glass.

We'd love to see you this weekend to help us celebrate. For more info, visit our website lewesfc.com

Thanks for reading and I hope your good start to the season long continues.
