The Winter Olmpics - Great or Shite ?.

One detractor of the Winter Olympics said it was just 2 weeks of different types of sliding on ice.

Well I suppose that is true but I am looking forward to it. Especially the Downhill Skiing. This is a superb event with 50 or so top quality skiers basically trying to get from the top of a mountain to the bottom of a mountain as fast as they can without being killed. It is very exciting.

Also the blokes who slide down a 2 mile tunnel of ice at 90 miles per hour feet first on a baking tray is pretty dman good as is the 2 and 4 man bob sleigh.

I can live without the ice skating unless it is Katerina Witt in a short skirt and the cross country skiing with random shooting at targets doesn't get the pulse racing but the Downhill, I will be in the living room beer can in one hand and Cowbell in the other cheering on our British hopes

Love it, just about all of it apart from ice dancing. I too will be clutching my large swingin cow bell in one hand and a family-size Toblerone as I watch.

I love it. I will watch all of it, or as much as I can. Even the ice dancing.

There is a brilliant chap called Kurt Browning who sometimes appears as a clown and is very talented.

Favourite event? Possibly Ski Jump or BobSleigh

Will watch some of it, bobsled, hockey and downhill ski-ing are usually pretty entertaining, will definitely tune in to any event where it looks like we might win a medal, even stayed up late last time to watch the curling!

It's great. I enjoy ice hockey and there's far more chance of witnessing serious injury in most of the events than the summer Olympics. Everyone loves watching skiers fall over.
