One of the best gigs I've ever been to , was the Pogues at Brixton Academy , about 20 years ago .

It was just before Christmas , they did Fairytale Of New York , Kirsty McColl came on for it and ( artificial) snow started falling . Lovely.

Then a while later I saw McGowan with them at the Fleadh in Finsbury Park - he could hardly stand , never mind sing .

I believe he may have had a drink problem
