Do we really get 45% of the nett receipts or 45% of the gross receipts?

Without wishing to go into Perseus mode, assuming a sell-out a conservative estimate says that

35,000 x £30 = £1.05m
45% of £1.05m = £472,500

Nice pay day...

Do these figures look about right?

Perhaps McGhee will be given an advance against the gate money.

I'm 99% sure ticket prices include VAT, so deduct 17.5% from those figures for a starter

45% of the net receipts.

Copied from the FA website:

The net gate receipts due from a match (except replayed matches in consequence of a breach of the Rules) shall be the total ticket sales for the match less VAT, the travelling expenses of the Visiting Club, the fees and expenses of the Match Officials, and other match expenses allowed under the Competition Rules (which include costs relating to gate attendants, turnstile operators, stewards, weather reports, police charges, floodlighting in accordance with the Competition Rules, contributions to the costs of First Aid Helpers and any costs relating to clearing the ground of snow and water provided the Visiting Club is consulted beforehand on the approximate costs).

That's assuming a sell out. Sorry but the FA Cup doesn't command the attention and therefore the crowds it used to. I'd guess a crowd of 20-25,000.

Spurs will sell out, almost certainly.

I have a couple of friends who are Spurs fans and they do not seem to have much trouble getting tickets for their leser games.

That's a bit pessimistic, Gritty. That implies Spurs would only sell about 14-19,000 tickets. I am sure they can shift more than that, especially if they think they are in for a hatful...

They sold out for the 3rd round against Palace last season.

Not forgetting of course it is net receipts - after expenses

Which actually make me think, if we had a home cup tie would the opposing club give us money to share in the loss if we still lose money everytime we play at Withdean ?
