I've just brought complete collection on DVD, I've never seen Godfather II or III. In your opinion what was the best Godfather?

Only 20 notes, brought it from HMV. Also has a fourth disk on how they made the films.

If you watch the third one first it won't seem as shit because you won't have anything to compare it to. That way one and two will seem even better when you watch them

1 & 2 are probably two of the greatest films ever made.

Part 3 is truely awful - wasn't Capolla's daughter drafted into the film at the last minute and cannot act to save her life ?

The third one is quite OK when compared to most other films; it only becomes rubbish if compared against I and II. Too many old priests dying, and it's very confusing trying to keep up with who's supposed to be whom, but otherwise not bad.

Oh, and II is the best, by a short nose from I. III just cantering into the home straight as the other two cross the line.

Awesome films, absolutely love them. I think Part 3 is not as bad as everyone makes out. The trouble is it has to compete against 2 of the best films of all time. Still some classic lines in Part 3:

"Just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in!!"

Godfather 3 is a mistake. The idea is that we'll cherish the tales of those who aged and greyed away from what we've seen and become millionaires profiting from collective anxieties and dread. When actually, we know Coppola needed the money so made it. Threw something together in his orchard thinking of bills.

Godfather 2 is brilliant. Any first film is forced to introduce us blandly to characters in places. 2 branched out everywhere with adventure and blood.

Great choice of films to buy. Love them all, obviously 1 and 2 are truly specially but I still thoroughly enjoyed part III, thought the ending is particularly stylish.
