Caught up with panorama / on football debt last night. Sounds as though Man Utd are in trouble with all the Glazers investments being in 'shopping malls', a declining market for which they overpaid and many only 50% occupied and that doesn't even cover the mortgage, so the Man Utd income is propping up their failing empire, with everything hocked up to the eyeballs and not enough equity left to cover their 1.2 billion debt (except maybe the sale of a vastly overpriced Man Utd, they'd better pray for some rich Arabs! - Who'd be a United supporter.

So long as they and all their family members can carry on trousering multimillion pound 'consultancy' salaries from Man U, I'm happy.

Remember: the world is here to make the obscenely rich even more obscenely rich.

the thing is they need Man U even more, to generate the cash to pay debts elsewhere. as long as they stay in CL they are fine and generate the cash required, so Glaziers need to release enough funds to keep them there. or put it another way, gloating over the impending doom of Man U is very premature.
