I know we have had these threads before where too many posters seem to have bought a really cool (for the period) first single, so no more of those please, this thread is for the UNCOOL singles you bought

I’ll start with Neil Sedaka -Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen which would probably be frowned on and reworded these days

OK fess up if you dare

Jimmy Osmond - Long Haired Lover From Liverpool

I don't know why I bought it, it sounded great at the time, looking back I'm thinking someone should be slapped me then

First 2 singles I had were 'This time' by the 82 World Cup squad and the Frog chorus. Think I traded one of them in at HMV for a quid off Five Stars new cassette.

As an aside I found my vinyl for 2 unlimited the other day for which i parted £3.99 for. Mugged.

Pass The Dutchie - Musical Youth

I still know all of the words to that one 35 years later :rave:

Where does the time go...

I nearly bought Captain Beaky (aged 10) but decided on Oliver's Army by Elvis Costello. I tended not be overly impressed by novelty records.

Popular opinion would say its Diamond Lights by Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle. I maintain that it is a piece of musical genius and future generations will compare it to Bach and Mozart.
