The Drive to Bristol

Am getting pretty bored of the M4.

Anyone have any experience of the journey via the M27 and Salisbury?

allow 4 hours - nicer drive but definitely slower with possible hold-ups in Shoreham/Chichester by-pass/Southampton/Salisbury and northbound on the M5 after Taunton. Still my favoured route though.

Train in 1hr 50mins ... much better way to get there.

I sometimes go Portsmouth-Newbury-M4 not the quickest route but cuts off much of the M4 and all the M25. The quickest is M23-M25-M3-Bracknell-M4.
