As it was discussed in a general punk thread that some people were looking forward to the upcoming Damned gig on the 21st December.

Its a small intimate venue of just 500 and as of Saturday there only 100 tickets left, so if your planning to go get them quick, and there will be no guest list ! so don't ask.

Who are the Dammed? Is it a Damned tribute band?.
you must be very young :)

It's the original band, well half, lead singer is original as is Captain Sensible, (of solo creation. happy talk fame, and Brighton resident)..

A side trivia fact, they released the first UK punk single, New rose, 1 week week before the Pistols released Anarchy in the UK. much to Rotten annoyance although he always denies it.:O

I think its all a bit sad to be honest.

Know what you mean, nostalgia ain't what it used to be, Went to the Troggs in worthing, now that was sad, but still good entertainment. but the whole place did stink of piss that night:O
Reg Presley (lead singer) is as mad as a box of frogs, spoke to him afterwards for an hour or so, believed in UFO's crop circles, and that the world will turn inside out at 11 mins past 11 on the 21st December 2012.:lolol:
very funny it was.

I've been oh so tempted to get tickets but seeing they are quite old now I reckon it's gonna be crap.

Seen them a couple of times in recent years, thet have been excellent. When I saw them back in the day they were terrible, must have been around 81/2 and then again in 85, really bad. But nowadays they are really tight, good sound, same old songs, but done well. Oh, and Lush, Superwife goes for the eye candy that is..... Dave Vanian! (trousers too tight IMO!). Sadly can't go to this one, got other plans.

Sensible and Vanian don't like each other much.
CS tries to shout over DV's vocals or interrupt with guitar bursts, because he knows Vanian likes to croon a bit like a dark Elvis.

They do these pre-Xmas tours every December, without releasing new material, because it pays their mortgages for the year. All good fun though, anyway.
They've not done a 25 year reformation, because they never actually officially split - but they do split, for 11 months every year.
