Yep - search is disabled as it's quite resource-intensive and with search comes "new posts" and "today's posts".

It won't go tits up. It hasn't gone tits up for a long, long time. But it will slow down, which is why I've turned some stuff to try and help things keep moving quicker.

(I wonder how 'reliable' Brightonfans would be if it ever had 400+ concurrent users. It rarely seems to have even 4...)
