That must have been one of our worst displays ever

A really crap display, freezing cold, crap old ground .... oh the joy of being an Albion supporter.

We played OKish for the first ten or fifteen minutes, but very little to be positive about after that. We just didn't look up for it. Passing was awful. Defending amateurish.

As for the players:

Turienzo ... how could one player be offside that many times? Has anyone ever explained the offside rule to him ... or don't they have one in Argentina?

McCammon ... tries hard, but last night he just didn't impress.

Hammond ... not playing well at present. Anonymous for much of the game.

Mayo ... very poor game. Cannot figure why McGhee brought him back in to the starting line-up when El Abd played so well on the left on Monday.

McShane ... poorest game for us. Everyone is permitted one off day I guess.

Butters played well, but not as dominating with his head as he has been.

El Abd was OK, but not up to Monday's standards.

Harty OK, but has played better.

Carpenter OK ... is he fully fit? Expect better.

The only positives were Kuipers, Carole and ,when they came on, CKR (why the hell didn't he start after the excellent game he had on Monday?) and Frutos.

Leon ... what can you say ... fans singing "Leon Knight Knight Knight" when he came on expecting (for some reason) something special. What did we get? Nothing. Zilch.

For Saturday:
Kuipers
Reid, McShane, Butters, El Abd
Carole, Carpenter, Hammond, Frutos
CKR, Hart
On the bench: Jarrett (is he fit?), McCammon, Elphick, Robinson, goalie.

I believe we can do over Millwall with that line-up if they give it 100%.

Ooh, no Leon in the 16 - take cover, toys will fly.
Kinky and Toad will have something to say about this ....

But hat if they only give 94% does that mean we'll get tonked 4 nil?!? Still a little confused why he changed the team but hey ho thats football.

Same XI that was on the pitch when we went one up against QPR please MM.

Er, did you miss the whole of the 1990s?

Cardiff in '94 springs to mind when we lost 5-3 at home. Despite pulling 3 back, conceding five at home was diabolical.

Note: In my supporting timescale.

One alteration. Knight for Robinson.

If possible someone for Hammond as I think he's not playing to the best of his ability atm.

Anything at Gillingham for me.

Anyone who thinks that last night was in anyway comparable to the sort of displays witnessed in Kent is badly mistake.

Oh the horror, the horror.

losing at Torquay on News years Day was about as low as it got for me.......................................

crap performances and losing at pissfield was just the norm.

We didn't get displays, we just got beat...................................

I mean, the best game I remeber there was the 4-4 draw v (wait for it) Colchester (ffs)

I feel a tad guilty about never going to watch Brighton at the Priestfield  Despite going to see them fairly regularly at the Goldstone and then most games at Withdean. I was travelling for one season and doing my A levels for the other though.

Obviously so. It's getting easier and easier to spot the youngsters, isn't it?

:lolol:

I could suggest plenty of worse performances over the years.

Palace away 5-0

Brentford away (take your pick really) 4-0, 4-0

Darlington at "home" (at the Pissfield) 4-0, fatty Gabbiadini hat trick

Sudbury Town at home in FA Cup, lost on penalties

Darlington at the Goldstone, only saving grace was Bellotti being chased out of the ground

Every other game at Kenilworth Road

Oldham away one year, 6-1

And I bet there's loads from the last few years at the Goldstone which were so bad I've wiped them from my memory.

:lolol:

Actually I though McShane did OK. :)

Hammond needs dropping. Sharpish. His passing is as bad as Reid's.

Which begs the point, with Oatway, Reid and Hammond all out at Southampton, who is going to make Carpenter do two players' jobs on Monday?

He's not far off though. I put last night up there (or should that be down) with the time at priestfield when we were 0-3 down to Darlington at half time.
We got raped in pretty much every department last night.

Big mac and the Argie were useless up front, they couldn't hold the ball up, movement was non existant and when they did make runs they went towards the corner flag. You could see the difference CKR made when he came on, but what the f*** was he doing on the bench to start with?

Mayo did his best but against a quick winger he looks like he is running backwards sometimes.

Hammond dissappeared in the middle and i think it's just a bit too for Chippy after his injury, but we don't have much of a choice there do we.
On the bright side at least I don't live in Luton. what a shitheap

Put Knight back in midfield? He wants the ball at his feet and we know he has an accurate pass....

Radical thought: Put Knight on Theo Walcott, because if McShane isn't playing (doesn't his loan period run out?), Butters is going to be toast when Walcott goes past him.

It may not best use of Leon's skills, but he did do a very good man-marking job on that Derby playmaker (Idiakis?) on the opening day of the season.
