It's not a completely accurate table as one of Portsmouth or Coventry will finish below us. Both need to win all their games to move above us but they need to play each other
Also Bristol City have to play both Coventry and Portsmouth and to go ahead of us need to win the other 8 and get at least a draw against one of these two which would subsequently leave the losing team below us. So 1 certain below us and another extremely likely as 30 results have to go the "right" way for us to finsih 23rd
putting it in context, next week really is our "cup final" and if we win next week, so will every game be after that............................
Who would have really thought we would be up there challenging at the sharp end of the season when only five minutes ago we seemed to be fighting relegation to League 2? Amazing!
Looking at last season's table, we would have ended up 16th, if we did not get another point this season. Portsmouth were 16th with 58 points last season.
Pfft. It will be a case of wether or not we automatically get Champions League football or have to settle for 4th place and go through the formality of knocking out some other poor, unsuspecting European giant.
Peterborough
Millwall
Barnsley
Nottingham Forest
Bristol City
Coventry
Doncaster
Portsmouth
(it's the same list of people who have yet to avoid relegation)
Palace could join that list, this weekend (though they are safe from relegation).
