Southampton are defensively weak especially against pace, hence the return to the time bandit partnership of Knight and Robinson, with the option of McCammon or Gatting on the bench.

Thats what i'd go for but after Gary Elphicks unfortunate debut i'm not sure McGhee'll throw Fraser in at the deep end

I've heard plenty about Gatting and the Elphicks, but know nothing about Fraser.
Can you give us the low down???

I think 4-3-3 formation are very unlucky for us, whenever we've tried them over the last couple of seasons we've been butchered in midfield.

The thought of Mayo against players like Walcott and Dyer sacres me witless.

Agreed, the problem is those two are gonna cause everyone in this division problems so there's no magical solution.

El-Abd and OGH at least have the pace to get closer to them though.

I have exactly the same feeling regarding untested youth teamers. Mayo can get it right, Luton was a bad benchmark to judge him because the entire team was not supporting each other defensively and everyone was getting exposed.
