Just done mine and it turns out they f***ed up my tax between 2005-06. I now owe 1400 quid. :lolol: :shootself Brilliant.

Anybody planning any criminal activity I can get involved with to make a quick buck?

If they are the ones who f***ed it up they should agree to yu paying it back in managable instalments or even increasing your tax each mont until it is covered. A pain in the sphinct but at least you won't have to pay it back in one lump sum.

If they messed up and you are employed, ask them to collect it through your tax code for 2007/2008 tax year. You will have extra £120 tax deducted each month. They will collect tax of up to £2000 this way but you are supposed to have filed Tax Return by end of December. If it's their fault they will still do it though. They did for me a few years back in a similar situation. Send them a letter and ask them to do this and point out the error. Good Luck.

Cheers mate. Gonna try and get a loan to pay it off, apparently you can get 4 weeks dispensation from the end of January where they won't charge you any interest. After that they do so will just sort it out that way.

They WILL charge you interest but not a surcharge (5%) which they charge you on 28 February if tax is still unpaid. If you do what I suggest you won't pay a penny in interest and will have it paid off from April 2007 to March 2008. Cheaper than a loan.
