And it looks like being a farce. He's probably not going to actually name any of the clubs or players involved in dodgy transfers, and will instead simply make a recommendation for future transfers which "the FA are likely to resist."

So that was worth it then.


From the BBC:

The findings of a nine-month inquiry into illegal payments in football transfers are set to be made public at 1400 GMT on Wednesday.

Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Lord Stevens will detail how many of 39 transfers under investigation he believes warrant disciplinary charges.

But Stevens is not expected to pinpoint individual cases of wrongdoing.

He is likely to suggest that transfers go through an independent body rather than the Football Association.

Such a move is likely to be resisted by the FA.
