I know my Catholic primary school (St Mary Magdalen's on Spring Street off Western Road, no idea if it's still there) always used to serve fish instead of meat on a Friday. This isn't a new thing, although I stopped caring about what the Catholic church thinks about things not long after I left that school.

I'm Catholic and when I was younger and I lived at home with a very Catholic Mum I always had a Fillet-O-Fish instead of a Big Mac after leaving the pub on a Friday night so I didn't have to lie to her!
