Sky Sports News- Live from Brighton

Perhaps someone can help here. Just returned from my local Weatherspoons where, they show Sky sports news but, rather unhelpfully, without sound or subtitltes. On screen I saw a grey haired bloke talking in front of a south downs type background with the tag 'Live from Brighton'.

For a nano second I thought LDC had dropped all opposition to the stadium until I noticed the headline 'Birmingham promotion'. Was it their chairman and if so, does he live near Brighton or was he just visiting?

I know this is trivial but I'm just curious to know what was going on.

Didn't he make his money out of porn or something? :lolol:

Wasn't it David Sullivan that made his money out of porn?

Think Sullivan is a porn millionaire but here a snippet from Gold's official website, so must be true.

'As a small, skinny, undernourished fifteen-year-old David Gold had dreams of playing for his local football club. West Ham United. To his huge distress his father Godfrey blocked his way but the entrepreneurial businessman is now the charismatic chairman of Birmingham City football club. Along with younger brother Ralph he owns Gold Group International, one of the most profitable private businesses in the United Kingdom. It is the parent company of retailer Ann Summers, lingerie chain Knickerbox, executive jet charter company Gold Air International, and the brothers share ownership with David Sullivan in Sport Newspapers. In May 2005 he bought the oldest Surviving FA Cup trophy for almost half a million pounds at auction to prevent it going to Germany.'

I guess what this shows is that there plenty of rich businessmen around who are willing to put their cash into a football club. Many of them will have connections with our part of the country. Some of them will do so out of a love of the game rather than like Archer, to make a quick few million out of them.

When Falmer is confirmed (whenever that will finally be) we will be an attractive proposition and people like Gold will be interested. Get the right person behind us, with the right reasons for getting involved and we could go places. Dick Knight is just the caretaker until our future is clear.

His daughter runs Ann Summers and he has a house in Hurstpierpoint.

If he could be persuaded to leave Birmingham and buy BHA it would be a dream to have somebody in charge with a great business brain and money to back up that brain.

Yeah coz he's gonna do that isnt he:shootself

Why not?

Mandaric sells Pompey goes to Leicester.

Gold sells Brum, (making another small fortune in the meantime) and buys Brighton.

If we already had Falmer I would say it would be a very real possibility.
