The version by Articulo 31 on the soundtrack of Masked and Anonymous is pretty interesting too, as is My Back Pages in japanese by the Magokoro Brothers

It's a phenomenal soundtrack album .... left field even for Dylan!!!

Looking forward to getting the DVD

Close to you - The Carpenters

Why do birds
Suddenly appear?
Everytime you are near
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

Why do stars
Fall down from the sky?
Everytime you walk by
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

On the day that you were born
The angels got together and decided
To create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moondust in your hair
Of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

Just like me
They long to be
Close to you

:)

Bruce Dickinson- solo stuff particularly shows amazing range of styles. Maiden stuff is but a small sample

Dolores O'Riordan- Pisses all over that cheap imitation Dido.

Nat King Cole- Just so smooth and mellow

I like Rainy Days And Mondays best. There's a cracking version of that on Green On Reds "This Time Around" album. Dan Stuarts voice fits that song perfectly.

I'll get back to you on that when I've had a listen to Dolores O'Riordan because I think Dido has got a f***ing amazing voice

Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your face"
Art Garfunkel's version of "I only have eyes for you"
Ian Gillan on "Highway Star"by deep Purple (surely the best concert opnening song ever)
Phil Collins on "Entangled" by Genesis off A Trick Of The tail (tho its the 12 string guitars that realy put my gooebumps up)

I actually prefer Ripples, but you are right Entangled with Steve Hackett's guitar is sublime. have you heard, Genesis Revisited by hackett?

More Fool Me

Here am I
Who while away the mornings
Since you've gone
Too long have I lain alone
Not knowing which way to turn.

And there you are
Quite sure that you were right
Knowing full well
That I'd be the first one
To go down.

And you'd be the one who was laughing
Except when things weren't going your way
And the lady would say that she'd had enough
Wandering around on her own.

The day you left
Well I think you knew you'd not be back
Well at least it would seem that way
Because you never said goodbye.
But when it comes round to you and me
I'm sure it will work out alright.

And you'd be the one who was laughing
And giving me something I don't need
And you know, I'd always hold you and keep you warm
Oh! more fool me.

But when it comes
Round to you and me
I ask myself
Do I really believe
In your love.
And yes, I'm sure it will work out alright.

Now that is just blubberingly loverlly

Bono on 'One'. Although it is probably the lyrics as much as his voice that make my hair stand on end. Quite simply the most beautifully written song ever...

"You gave me nothing,
now thats all I got"

Stunning.
