I'm a second year undergraduate. I have done absolutely NO work for about 2 weeks now, neither degree or paid. My bank account is in a better condition than it was yesterday, not because I have earnt it but because Dad gave it to me for free cos I am a student. I only have 5 hours lectures a week and I'm not going to today's. No, today I will just sit on my arse playing playstation until I play in the 5 a side league later. Last night the club I was in was selling TRIPLE vodka red bulls for £1.20, ONE POUND and TWENTY PENCE!! On Saturday I'm going on holiday to Prague with the girlie (a holiday from WHAT??)because we have what is known as a 'reading week' which is a bit like half term. I'm such a lazy wanker, I don't pay tax when I do actualy undertake part time work and I intend to continue in this vain for the next 2 years because the course I am on is not particularly challenging and I reckon I can coast it for most of the year doing the bare minimum reading.

I do not feel guilty whatsoever.

Should this be allowed or should I be forced to live like the rest of the country?

I did exactly the same when I was a student, and I certainly wasn't alone.

3 years later I had to declare myself bankrupt

Everyone has the option to be a student. I've had my time, good luck to ya. Personally I'd rather be at work earning the bucks and have a bit of money in my pocket.

Enjoy it while it lasts, cos when you leave and have to get a job it will be time to join the real world.

I had a similar time as you as a student, but not quite as lazy.

The thing to remember is that you're there to get a degree / diploma, so it doesn't matter what you do or how you pass just as long as you pass. A drop-out or shit degree looks bollocks on your CV a couple of years down the line.

You're a perfect example of why I despise students.

aw, thanks! Surely I start off as 'shelf stacking deputy vice team leader' or something, what with me being a graduate and all? :)

Not necessarily. The only person I know who spent all 4 years at university in the college bar, and then failed his degree completely, is now a partner in a top accounting firm...

I'm all for it - as someone said, everyone has the option, and its a helluva lifestyle...

Couldnt do it now though - Ive become accustomed to getting along with my bank manager, and not paying for things by cheque.

We had grants back in my uni days, so accommodation and course fees were paid. Therefore any money you had was automatically spending money.

I did develop a habit for buying records, hifi and other tat though, and now have £21,000 of debt :dunce:

Ah, sod it and go for it FH, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, just make sure you get a 2:1 :clap2:
