Setting your avatar

As previously discussed, unfortunately we lost a lot of custom avatars on the upgrade a couple of days back.

Sorry and all that.

So you probably need to set your avatar up again.

To do so, you need to go to your avatar settings

If you want to reinstate your old avatar, but can't find it, all may not be lost.

Using our esteemed Lord Bracknell as an example...

1. Right click on when your avatar should be to get the filename of where it used to be. It will be something like avatar1234_1.gif. Then use Google to image search NSC specifically for that. Use this as an example, replacing avatar6_1.gif with the filename of your own avatar:

2. As is the case for Lord Bracknell, this may not find your avatar. So, Plan B, use Google to image search NSC for YOU, like this:

site:www.northstandchat.com lord bracknell - Google Search

This is more successful for LB.

3. If you find the picture you want to use for your avatar, right click on it and save the picture to your hard drive.

4. Go to the link in 1 above and upload your avatar to NSC. And you're done!

Can only save my image from google search as a Bitmap (*.bmp) file and not a jpeg so will not upload. Any ideas as can't get the option of saving as a jpeg?
