Tea shop in Tintagel does the most wonderful cream teas. Large and I mean large fruit scones with sugar glazing. Home made clotted cream and strawbie jam.Washed down with a big cup of delicious Darjeeeling.

Sc "on" s?

Oh the debate .... how to pronounce "?one", "on" or "own"

Take the word "scone" and drop the "s" to leave "cone" as in "co-own"

now swap the "c" with a "g" to leave "gone" as in "gon".

So the answer to the debate - both are right and the English language is a total nightmare.

Personally I think hot buttered toasted teacakes knock scones into a cocked hat. We had a particularly fine pair at Litlington Tea Gardens only last week.

Neither here nor there
Sussex cream tea best flavour combination in the world. Sweet, salty, creamy ... make sure you have ample butter, cream and good quality jam.

It's "scoans" and not "skons".

I always thought that it was regional what you called them, personally it is "scoans", but show one to an American and they will call it a biscuit, how f****d up is that?

Been to the very same establishment, top draw.

Dare I mention cheese scoans, for those that have a savory tooth.
