If we want to progress out of this division then we shouldn't be looking at league 2 players

Good job someone told Liverpool not to look at 4th division Chester City's Ian Rush eh?

Just imagine if they'd signed him - they'd have been relegated. :dunce:

I wasn't saying it like that I just thought we would be after players with experience in this league or higher

I'd argue (perhaps wrongly) that there's a MUCH bigger gap in quality between the Premiership and League Two nowadays to then.

And I reckon we will. :)

Well yes but are you saying there haven't been examples of 4th tier players moving and becoming a success at 2nd tier level since then?

at the risk of you rattling a load of names off, no, but think us in particular need to be raising our sights a little higher. Gus's forays to lower league clubs have not brought us great results .

I'm not sure, but I suspect he's only looking at this sort of player as cover, a bit like Romain Vincelot last season.

Sadly destined if signed to become lost in the twighlight zone that is the development squad, never to be seen again.

I cannot BELIEVE there are at least 2 people writing this player off based on the fact that he is of average (maybe minus 1 inch) height.

Yeah, that Le Fondre bloke's been crap at Reading hasn't he? Same as that Hart fellow at Man City.

I know they're exceptions to the rule but just because someone may be playing in a lower league it can bear no relation to the ability they actually possess.
