Oh well, looks like Gordon has finally been found out.
PSB of £43bn last year, up £11bn on the previous year. That EXCLUDES all of the debt on PFI.
This country is seriously in debt, on a personnal and state level. (No doubt it's all Thatchers fault still ).
Brown inherited a situation where public finances were healthy and were projected by Clarke to be for several years (which was dismissed as fanciful by Labour and commentatotrs at the time, but Clarke was proved to be correct).
Dear old Gordon has spent it all, plus the windfall taxes, plus the 3G licence money, and we're still hugely in debt. Now, when we could do with a fiscal stimulus to the economy, we have no room for movement. Zilch, jack shit.
Prudent chancellor my arse. Bloody con artist, along with Phoney Tony.
Kick 'em out a.s.a.p. Bloody good riddance. Are the Tories and better; don't know, but you can't judge these on your myoptic views of previous generations, otherwise we'd all still view Labour as being 'Tax and Spend', of wait a minute....
