JOHN CRUMPLIN RETIRES FROM PLAYING FOOTBALL

Some sad news today...........

Crumplin's career is finished after friendly.

Whyteleafe 0 Gillingham 3

TRIALIST John Crumplin was left cursing his luck when he was forced to retire from football at Church Road on Saturday.

The injury-plagued ex-Brighton professional defender pulled his hamstring only five minutes after replacing Whyteleafe's Danny Bower in this pre-season friendly.

John Crumplin was an Albion legend and it's a shame his career had to end so unceromoniously.

Can't believe he was still going.

GENIUS indeed. A living legend.

Just shows, you don't have to be the best player, you just have to be a tryer and we will love ya.

Saw him score a 30 yarder at Blackpool in 1988, amazing match, we were 1-0 up with a minute to go, they equalised, then Crumps unleashed a howitzer and Garry Nelson scored another:D

Anyone still got the T-shirt?

YES, I still have my FOOTBALL GENIUS T-Shirt from the 91 campaign.. Wear it now as a lucky undergarment in the winter, when wearing my shirt....

Loved that man .. Respect to the genius (Nutmegging John Barnes when dribbling out of defense at Anfield will live with me)

*clears throat* ahem (and if I recall correctly);

Oh David Icke,
He is a liar
He claims to be
The true messiah
But we all know
It is not 'im
For the true messiah
Is John Crumplin....

Heard on a train coming back from I don't know which away game. A legend - best of luck for the future Crumps.
