As Oldman hinted at in another thread, is she going to have to resign? At the moment she has the express support of Tony Blair and David Cameron over her decision to place her child (who has special needs) in private education.

But IF she does go (and the media are having a bit of a feeding frenzy), what would be the timing implications for the Falmer saga?

It won't make any difference at all.....we're never going to get Falmer , not in my lifetime.

Its f***ing ridiculous. The womans poor bloody kid has severe learning difficulties so she is paying out of her own pocket to get him the best help she cam. Any parent would do exactly the same.

Exactly. I do think the media is desperate to get Ruth Kelly for some reason, but this won't be the one that brings her down. She clearly believes in the state school system and is making an exception for the reasons above.

Any parent would not have shut 117 special needs schools when they were education secretary though,as a parent Kelly has every right to do what she is doing,it's a shame that a lot of Mums and Dads can't afford to do the same,
as the great George Orwell once penned "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
Don't you just love champagne socialism?

Socialism? Labour lost that around 1987.
