Also delusional if he thinks he can make demands like that for long term peace. Russia has been unable to succeed on the battlefield, so they want the land just given to them

What you can be sure of, is if it is in the 90% hybrid war action (and my money is it is), it would have been planned to look like 90% accident or have plausible deniability.

They often do things so you know its them, but cant truly prove intent

This whole "peace" process is like watching a four-way game of chess, with moves being determined well in advance.

Commentating on an individual move is pointless, as you can argue Putin's 'No' to a ceasefire may annoy Trump, or it may be exactly what Trump wants to hear.

What we do know about Russia is that interest rates are an eye-watering 21%, while inflation is at 10%. These factors mean business can barely afford to continue, let alone grow, while the only people who can afford anything are those on fat government war contracts or oligarchs. Meanwhile, the Russian death toll mounts.

All things being equal, the best Russian could hope for would be to keep the Ukrainian land they hold and have all sanctions lifted. The price would be a NATO-led peacekeeping force / demilitarised zone and a free and independent Ukraine.
