Apparently, while at Grimsby, he kept the players on the pitch at half-time, carting the whiteboard onto the pitch to explain his tactics to the players in front of the crowd.

Perhaps someone can fill in the details.

They were 4-0 down by half time so he wouldn't let them go down the tunnel and the players had to remain on the pitch. The funny thing was they were playing away at Lincoln (Mar 2006). They must have played better in the 2nd half as the result was 5-0.

Mullery done the same in the 70's but he did'nt even bother talking to them just left them in the centre circle.
