As of tomorrow we can all legally drink ourselves stupid for 24 hours a day.

So does anyone have any plans to celebrate this momentous occasion?

Well ok, tehnically that won't happen. But the point is the potential is there.

There are a number of clubs and bars in Brighton that are taking advantage of the new laws and we can now go out boozing til gone 6am at certain places, on certain nights.

typical. 2 days after I get told to lay of the source they bring the 24 hour rule in. Someone upstairs must be having a right laugh at my expense right now:angry:

If you can find a pub that's actually open 24 hours a day.

Not heard of any that got 24 hours. I know the Weatherspoons in Eastbourne asked for it but were turned down.

We have had 24 hour licensing on the Island for a couple of years now and it works very well.

It does make getting a taxi home easier as the pubs all shut at different times.

Although people seem to drink at home then head out later around 9pm.

I dont think any open 24 hours a day though as I do not believe there is sufficient custom to pay wages etc.

I know all the places that I drink in Eastbourne that have got an extension have it incase that need it rather then planning to use it all the time.

I didnt think they could apply for late license but generally shut earlier. I am probably wrong though.

Then can open and close when they like within their licenced hours.

Young Robyn on TalkSport said today that the vast majority of 24 hour licences have been given to Supermarkets.

I heard that and I'm a bit confused. Does that mean that the Asda in Hollingbury (which is already open 24 hours) didn't sell booze between 11.00 and 11.00 until today?

I bet that must have reduced its trade.
