Word on the mean streets of Croydon is McCormack will be a Palace player by next week .

They've said that they're "in very advanced talks with a player, but the selling club won't let him join until they sign a replacement". Also, the BBS source that CPFC2010 say is "pretty much spot on" says that we're waiting for Varney to join Leeds before we can get him.

I can't see Huddersfield competing with us next season. They bought Scannell off us this summer, despite the fact that he's not good enough for our first team.

They want to keep him and offered him a new contract which he has rejected which is why they are selling him now rather than lose him for nothing next summer.

He has agreed terms with Palace and wants to join Palace. He knows Freedman on a personal level which is why he wants to join.

Just waiting on Leeds now so Palace can confirm the deal.

There was something happening with the CMS swap deal plus another Yorkshire club substantially outbidding a previous offer , which effectively put Palace out of the picture at least a week before Dougie announced in the press that they couldn't compete with clubs making big money offers on players. To all intents and purposes Neil Warnock now wants to keep RM at Leeds
