If there was a sound card on this PC I'd listen to it live but unfortunately not.

Think the teams are:

Reading: Young, Osano, Stapleton, Mullins, Newman, Howell, Convey, Soares, Brooker, Goater, Savage.
Subs: Castle, Catney, Cox, Hayes, Rendell

Brighton: Roberts, El-Abd, Jones, Elphick, Budd, Mayo, Breach, Hart, Jarrett, Robinson, Molango
Subs: Rents, May, Watson, Carey

From our official site.

Looks like the average age of both teams is around 18!

Goater is playing though (age 34!), and we have the gall to put in a man who cost £800k (Convey). Rest are all academy players.

Bloody hell, we are playing 2 up front and 2 wingers and other than Mayo in central defence, it looks like most people are in their natural position.

WHAT IS GOING ON?

McGhee doesn't manage the reserves :lolol:

I heard that, after the kit man left his bag at home, Reading loaned us a spare set.

They then demanded that we send them a complete set of new kit after the match....

:)

How about we go halves and you give us 5.5 kits at the end? :p

Reading 0
Brighton 1 (Jarrett 73)

Shaun Goater made his comeback after a month on the sidelines with a calf injury as the reserves lost 1-0 at home against Brighton this afternoon, with the only goal being scored by Albert Jarrett after 73 minutes.

Goater had the first chance of the game, sending a near post header narrowly over the crossbar from Bobby Convey's well flighted left-wing free-kick.

Brighton had the first shot on target when right-back Adam El Abd sprinted down the right wing before drilling a low shot towards the far post but Jamie Yougn got down smartly to gather.

The visitors threatened again after 15 minutes when Nathan Jones' left-wing corner picked out the late run of Kerry Mayo, whose powerful header was well cleared off the line by Reading left-back Darren Stapleton.

Then Reading broke forward as Goater played the ball through for Convey, who was playing in a central midfield position, but Jones came across to challenge well as the American was preparing to shoot.

Goater had a goal disallowed for offside after he nodded home captain Ricky Newman's quickly-taken free-kick, and Paul Brooker had a decent penalty appeal waved away as he appeared to be held back inside the area.

Towards the end of the half Bas Savage made a mazy run to the edge of the box before seeing his shot deflected wide for a corner, and then Goater forced a save from ex-Reading stopper Ben Roberts with a low left-footed effort from the edge of the box.

Early in the second half Young had to make a scrambling save when Jarrett mis-hit a left-wing cross and the ball was looping into the corner before the Royals keeper leapt to tip it over the bar.

Reading's first attack of the second half came on 55 minutes when Savage did well down the right-hand side to beat his man and cut back a low cross which Simieon Howell controlled and span onto his left foot before curling a shot wide of the far post.

After a quiet passage of play, Brighton moved ahead when Jones' left-wing cross was cleared as far as Jarrett, who picked up the loose ball and drove an excellent low 20-yard effort into the bottom right-hand corner, giving Young no chance.

Immediately after the goal Goater was replaced, having successfully completed the majority of the game on his return from injury, and Academy striker Scott Rendell came on.

As the Royals looked for an equaliser, Convey picked up a throw out from Young and made a 60-yard run with the ball, surging to the edge of the box before slicing a shot well wide.

With ten minutes remaining Savage again did well down the right and found Brooker on the right corner of the box, and the winger fired over a low cross which was just too far ahead of the sliding Simieon Howell.

Then the Royals won a free-kick for a late challenge on Savage, and Convey stepped up to try his luck from 30 yards but the shot deflected off the wall and behind for a corner.

The final chance for an equaliser came inside stoppage time, when sub Jon Hayes lofted a high centre into the penalty area and Louis Soares won the header, but the ball dropped down harmlessly towards Roberts for an easy save.

Reading: Young, Osano, Stapleton (Hayes 75), Mullins, Newman, Howell, Convey, Soares, Brooker, Goater (Rendell 75), Savage
Subs: Castle, Catney, Cox

Brighton: Roberts, El-Abd, Jones, Elphick, Budd, Mayo, Breach, Hart, Jarrett, Robinson, Molango (Watson 80)
Subs: Rents, May, Carey

Nice one Albert  See no goals for Molango again and subbed. Maybe Booker was saving his legs for Saturday:rolleyes:
