Im sure you probably have all rec'd this response BUT just in case, this is the Reply I got back from the planning office when I emailed asking a rough date of announcement, so I look forward to some sarcastic replies saying we have seen before! anyway if it helps one or two people then great (although the reply is vague as it is!)
Mr Short,
I cannot give you an indication date of when the decision on these
planning applications may be issued as yet. You may wish to know
however that the First Secretary of State aims to issue decisions on 80%
of called-in planning applications and recovered appeals within 16 weeks
of the close of the public inquiry. This deadline recognises that it is
not always possible, due to the size, complexity or issues raised by a
given case, to meet this deadline for all cases - as in this instance.
In this case, the First Secretary of State is currently engaged in a
reference back exercise, which was initiated on 19 March 2004. He has
invited comments from the relevant parties about issues arising since
the close of inquiry. It is the First Secretary of State's view that
this exercise will enable him to take a more fully informed decision.
It should not be read as an indication of the First Secretary of State's
attitude to the proposals generally one way or the other.
The First Secretary of State does however endeavour to issue decisions
on all cases as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
