Treasure Hunt!
You gotta take your hat of to those fellas down at the Rare Kind Gallery. Not only are they in the middle of producing a king-size order exclusively for Debenhams on Oxford Street, they’re currently putting the finishing touches on perhaps the dopest artistic project this town’s ever seen.
Sometime in the small hours of October 18th the Rare Kind artists will be taking it to the streets in unique fashion to bring you ‘Exhibitionism’.
The idea is simple but kinda beautiful: 100 pieces of fresh artwork, distributed round the streets of our fair city for anybody and everybody to find.
Over the last couple of months the Fam have been collecting bits of discarded wood and stuff to use as canvases for the project, recycling them and painting them up something lovely.
Under the cover of darkness on the 18th and 19th these one-off pieces will be dashed across Brighton from Palmeria Square to Preston Circus, through the centre of town and even all the way out to the universities (don’t forget to drop some off on the east side too gents!).
We’ll (www.brightonhiphop.com) be bringing you more on this over the next couple of weeks, hopefully we’ll be able to persuade the Rare Kind crew to hit us off with a few hints as to where to (quite literally) pick up these street gems.
Like I said, Hats off to them for this one. Rare Kind are constanly repping hip hop in Brighton hard. This is innovative stuff, and all costs are coming straight out of their own pockets...
