Why did we only target John Prescott and not the rest of the ministerial team as well, namely Nick Raynsford, Keith Hill, Lord Rooker, Yvette Cooper and Phil Hope? Surely they would have a say? Were they part of the postcard campaign?

Have I missed something here??

I emailed all the others. However, this decision is part of Prezza's remit at the ODPM rather than anyone else's I think.

Keith Hill is the Minister who deals with most planning applications.

Prescott is the man who decides what is a matter of national consideration.

When you have to argue that this is a matter of national significance, you have to persuade Prescott.

Incidentally, the AONB and the National Park are the responsibility of Margaret Beckett and Alan Michael at DEFRA. They deal with Prescott. That's another reason for us targeting Prescott, not Hill.

That's Alun Michael, Lord B. He's a time-serving, lickspittle Blair loyalist who was, sensibly, rejected as Welsh First Minister. I hadn't realised he'd ended up at DEFRA.
