Saw them filming it in the lanes as I had just came out of cinema the Abc in little east street about 77 or 78 had just watched grease and to make it an even better day Peter ward was 2 rows behind me what a day , grease, Peter ward and quadrophenia

If you freeze the East Street mob scene you can just make out my old man in the Wimpey, sadly not me though. I remember them running up and down about a hundred times. It was around November 1978, I think it was a Friday afternoon I remember as my old dear was in hosptial and the old man had taken me out of school. The Sunday before we stood opposite East Street and watched the old BlacK Mariah screech around the corner again about 100 times, and a man with a mega phone shouting 'pull it more right first' could have been Roddam himself. The Old dear still has some photos of this.
