Just read the back page and Poyet basically says that Murray had guts to take it, as it must have been difficult after so many previous misses. After each miss, the next one becomes more difficult and he effectively said someone else should have taken over the penalty duty last night.

Also the Argus scored Arismendi 7/10 and said he had a good game. Every post I read last night from people who had been to the game completely contradicts this !

Arismendi made one quality pass (in the first half) apart from that he looked lethargic and lacked any kind of drive. The biggest problem for him was that his poor performance stuck out even more when Navarro came on and continued his brilliant form.

Yes watched the interview on Seagulls world and I think he was imlying its takes guts to say I have missed already and someone else should take the penalty who will score and win us the game.

Who would this have been Master baster Virgo, Home town hero Crofts, Deadball specalist Bennett or Youthful and confident Barnes.

Arismendi was not 7 and was shown up even more when Navvaro and Dicker came on and showed how it was done.

This is what I made of the interview too, he sounded a little pissed off with Murray to be honest!

I would have gone with Bennett, he is our deadball specialist.

Maybe the score is from a Stoke fan trying to big-up his man? :D

Really? How many goals/assists does he have this season from corners/freekicks compared to the rest of our squad?

The rest of our squad are awful at taking corners and freekicks, he is just the best out of a bad bunch. You would not sign him because he was good at taking free kicks.

So as manager why didn't he discuss this BEFORE kick off (i.e. in training days before) and make the decision then?

Don't get me wrong love the Gus man, however, a manager is there to make sure direction is given, the strategy is planned and executed by the right people and everyone's knows their role!

Or maybe - just maybe the "experts" on NSC (the same ones who were slagging off Navarro earlier on in the season) are wrong :O :O :O

Thing is. Navarro was shit this season. Early half, he was a donky. He's really picked up and is now a star, and i was one of his more vocal detractors.

If Murray learnt to put his weight behind a shot instead of trying to pass every ball into the f*cking net we'd be properly safe this morning!

Number of goals you have scored in professional football would be?? Or you have coached how many players that have gone on to have successful careers?

Right then lads!

Let's have all of you off of here who do not meet these qualifications to post your opinions! :shootself

It wasn't an opinion it was telling a professional who has scored plenty of goals throughout his career, how to score goals following an off night

The fact that Navarro is playing better NOW is proof that you shouldn't criticise Arismende who has only played a couple of games since being injured.

People are being hypocritical if they now sing Navarro's praises after they've so publicly slated him on this board after games early on in the season and then criticise Arismende...Surely the fact that Navarro has been playing well after a decent run in the team is proof that you shouldn't judge and criticise players until they've had a chance to have a run in the team?

I remember everyone slating Nogan when he first joined us in the 90's and then he ended up scoring a hatful of goals once he'd had a decent run out.

Murray really shouldn't have taken the penalty, it was clear that he didn't turn up on the night. I knew when he stepped up that he would miss, imo Bennett should have taken it. This has lost us two points and although I doubt we will go down, we could have been pretty much safe last night.

It was the guy's opinion! To the best of my knowledge sharing opionins on all things Albion is a major function of this board.

If you look at all top strikers they have a range of shots in their locker. Many strikers are guilty of trying to bust the net with every shot, when a placed shot would be more appropriate. I know that without the qualifications you state are necessary to have an opinion.
