if someone asked me my post code and i live in number 8 on the road, would it be the same as number 4 on the same road?

in OTHER WORDS. do roads share the exact postcode.

In the old days the postcode used to be unique to about 10 houses. Nowadays the postcodes are used more sparingly and a whole street can have the same , covering 200 properties or more.
