I remember when I used to buy them they were about £18. That was about 15 years ago now though so I guess £40 today is about equivalent.

When I was at Brighton College Junior School back in the early eighties, we used to have Scalextric days, where everyone would bring their track in and we'd build a MONSTER track in the school assembly hall (I think, or was it the gym?)

It was fab! Everyone labelled their bits of track and their cars and we'd spend the whole day on it.

Scalextrix cars are like real cars but alot smaller.
Oh, and real cars haven't got a couple of strips of flex on their underside to enable them to pick up their 'juice'
