There's an occasional series in the Viz letters page celebrating headlines that newspaper sub-editors have managed to slip past their would-be superiors. Can't remember many of them but my favourite was the story of the theft of various woodworking tools, under the headline "Saw snatch".
Crawley Observer years ago reported a young lad wrecking some street furniture with the headline YOUTH KICKED IN BOLLARDS.
They also printed the same line twice in a report of a flashing incident noting that the man was "...on a bicycle (!?) and had short black curly hair and had short black curly hair"
