Not a criticism at all but what is the reason put forward for the trip to portugal.i.e how will it be of benefit on a trip to some northern shithouse in winter.

He doesn't explicitly state a reason but presumably to improve moral and so that the players know each other and Poyet on a personal level, making communication and team building that bit easier.
