Interesting conversation with a police financial controller today.

They try and plan police budgets for the next five years and are weighing up costs of policing Brighton Games at Falmer on a basis of around 15000-18000 football fans.He says they are working to a planned timetable of 2007 for the stadium being built. hmmmmmm

Was it an approved budget or only planned ?

It'll only be planned. Police authority budgets are only approved annually (I think).

Yep all done annually, but they will have a plan for the next few years.
