Hi. This might be a bit spammy. Apologies if so, but it is for charidee and that...

Two Brighton folk punk bands Pog and Wob (who some people on here may have seen as they gig locally a fair bit) have recently fallen out arguing over which of them is the best Brighton band with a three letter name with an 'o' in the middle. To decide the matter once and for all, they're playing a gig at the Ranelagh blues bar on St James's Street on Good Friday. Admission is free, but a collecting pot will go round during each band's set. Whoever raises the most will win the title. All the money goes to the charity Animals Asia, so pop along if you can. Those who can't attend can take part by donating online to which of the two bands they prefer. All the money goes direct to the charity and the sums raised online will be added to the on-the-night collection in determining the winner. Thanks for reading x

I can confirm neither.

Pog would have more Dr Who fans if that counts.

Isn't Wob just the name of the singer? Weren't his band called Silverleaf or something?

Pog. On the basis that they don't have anyone that is an active fan of another club, whereas Wob's drummer is *spit* an Arsenal fan.

So NONE then like I said. Plus they bought into the CLAPTRAP about flattening the village to make way for a stadium.

I remember talking to Wob at the Evening Star some time before building started and he was worried about the destruction of Stanmer Park! Like a lot of the environmental opponents he was extremely ignorant about the actual construction site and how much 'desecration' was going to happen.

Speaking as a Brighton fan I've got to say that as far as I'm concerned both groups can f***ing do one. (However privately I will admit that Wob's 'Big Sun, Big Sky' is one of my favourite songs).

So neither bands have anyone remotely connected with BHA, they include in at least one of the bands opponents of the Falmer construction and this has been posted by the bloke promoting it....a Charlton fan. Yes, I think this is a bit spammy and no, I won't be going.

Fair enough JDDS. For what it's worth, the landlord of the pub is a 1901er, the two barstaff working tomorrow night are both Albion fans, the promoter (me) goes to watch Brighton several times a season in games that don't involve Charlton, and the gig is in aid of saving sweet moon bears like this one:
