Kuipers - 6 - one top-class save, and then we conceded from the corner. Did well otherwise

Whing - 5 - Looked alright, not really sure why he keeps getting taken off everygame. Covered and over-lapped well

Elphick - 5 - can't remember him really doing anything

Hawkins - 6 - good game, best I've seen him have. Won nearly everything, although he passed the ball backwards when we had the opportunity to shoot

Richards - 6 - good game, covered all over the defence, not so much bombing forward but solid

Thomson - 5- won the ball in midfield numerous times but couldn't do anything with it

El-Abd - 6 - good in midfield I thought, got his foot in when required and tried to get the midfield going, didn't look too good at right-back

Savage - 0 - absolutley shit, wish he'd f*** off now  no wonder he got cheered when taken off :tosser:

Anyinsah - 7 - MOTM - look quick and sharp, won the balls against tall defenders, our most likely outcome for producing anything positive

McLeod - 6 - quite in the first-half, looked really promising playing from the right side in the second-half

Virgo - 6 - flicked the ball on, but there was no support from the middle, he can't play up-front on his own

Subs:
Thornton - 5 - during the warm-up he comes across that he has special needs. Won the ball, and created things. Needs to start next week. Very lucky not to be sent-off though for stamping on the goalkeepers back.

Cox - 6 - looked lively when he came on, and for once dangerous, lacked final delivery though

Robinson - 5 - needs to cross the ball in to the box when in good positions rather than just trying to get it all done himself.

The Kuipers 'save', other people have said it him him bang in the face?

Was that a different incident?

I'd say he saved it with his legs or it hit his body, don't think it caught him in the face

Overall this was a performance to forget. Completely outplayed in the first half and not helped by the strong wind. We did come back into the match in the second half, after the substitutions, but it was too little too late though we hit the crossbar and had a good shout for a penalty turned down. On this form it's starting to become a worry where the next points (or goals) will come from.

Kuipers - 6 - couple of good saves but his kicking into the wind was hopeless in the first half, nearly every kick went out of play.

Whing - 6 - not a bad game, few good runs, thought he was unlucky to get subbed

Elphick - 5 - didn't seem to be in the game, none of the passion he used to have

Hawkins - 6 - good game, solid at the back

Richards - 6 - did all that was asked of him, steady game

Thomson - 5 - very poor, another anonymous game, struggling to think of any positive contribution he had on the game

El-Abd - 6 - strong game in midfield, got stuck in as per normal (he basically was our midfield on his own). Didn't figure so much when moved back into defence.

Savage - 5 - saw quite a bit of the ball but didn't manage to do much positive with it. Threw his toys out of the pram when subbed, his attitude stinks.

Anyinsah - 7 - MOTM - several good runs, looked a threat when he got the ball but his game petered out when he was moved to a more central position after the substitutions.

McLeod - 5 - not up to his pre-injury standards, a few good passes but doesn't seem fully fit.

Virgo - 6 - battled hard but suffered from lack of service.

Subs:
Thornton - 6 - looked lively and got stuck in, we started to play more like a team when he came on. Think he should start Tuesday. I must have missed the stamping incident referred to by RMT?

Cox - 6 - a few good runs, wasn't hard to look more lively than those he'd replaced.

Robinson - 6 - several good runs and crosses into the box but no time to make a difference

didnt see what happened with savage when sub? was obvious something had gone on though

agree with most of the above, mcloed wasn't as good as tuesday but tried to use the wind to his advantage which is more than most of the others did.thornton controllled the game once he was on,jake and coxy looked lively at least jake had a couple of efforts.whingy was poor, caught out of position time after time but matty richards defended superbly.why oh why do we pursist with thommo as an attcking midfielder? it isn't gonna happen

FDM 5 Classic Michel. One incredible save, shot stopping good as always, BUT badly out of position for the goal, and distribution and judgement of crosses poor

Whing 6. He got forwards on the wing when possible, so can't understand why he was subbed. Outnumbered far too often in the first half when there was ZERO cover in front of him, so often trying to mark two men.

Hawkins 6 Threw himself at evertything, probably had the best half chance in the second half but bizarrely kicked the ball AWAY from 'Pool's goal.

Elphick 5 Struggled against two decent forwards

Richards 6.5 Best of a poor bunch from the starting XI yesterday. Defended well and had a good effort narrowly over the bar in second half.

Bomber 4 Savage 4 Thomson 4 All played identical games, five yard passes, poor picking up of opposition, and unwilling to attack

McLeod 4 Looked unfit and disinterested.

Anyinsah 6 Our only threat in first half, and his pace was used to good effect, but faded badly. Unlucky that 25 yarder hit the bar, but it was a hit and hope effort.

Virgo 6. Won (but also lost) a good number of headers against two solid centre halves. Had a couple of half chances off target. Lack of pace very noticeable.

Subs:

Thornton 7: Made a noticeable difference when came on, prepared to run at defenders and make a nuisance of himself. Can't see why he didn't start.

Cox 6: Couple of decent corners, lack of left foot a hindrance when playing on the left wing

Robinson 6: Looked up for it, made their keeper make his only save of the match in the 93rd minute.

Kuipers - 5 - OUt of position for the goal, and should have learned after his 3rd kick striaght off the pitch, to keep the ball to the other wing. Great point blank save.

Whing - 6 - didnt really put a foot wrong, and great to see a right back playing at right back.

Elphick - 5 - Not his best game, but solid enough, one great block, looked like he was carrying an injury

Hawkins - 6 - got caught out for the goal with Virgo, but was solid enough. Looking like he is back to full fitness which is a good thing, so hopefully will see a better level of play from him now

Richards - 6 - Did well, again like Whing didnt really put a foot wrong. Maybe the best of the defence, at least remembered about the wind when kicking it long.

Anyinsah - 6 - Unlucky with the thunderblaster that caught the wind and smashed the bar. Tried to put himself about, but not really effective this time.

Savage - 5 - got caught on the ball a couple of times, but tried to keep the ball down in the gale force winds. Rightly subbed, looked knackered.

Thomson - 5 - again tried to keep things simple, but looked to similar to Savage so we lacked any attacking creativity. At least he tried to get forward a couple of times

El Abd - 5 - not sure why we try to play him centre midfield, when we have better ones on the bench. Again looked like a centre back playing out of position. Won some good challenges though. Much better at right back

McLeod - 5 - Looked off the pace, and couldnt get going, didnt see much of the ball. Had better games, but it wasnt really a game for wide men.

Virgo - 6 - Really shouldnt be playing upfront as he seems to have no pace. He won a lot of headers, but kept flicking them on even though he had no one up with him. Should have tried to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into the game

Thornton - 6 - Looked really good when he came on, but for some reason he is not allowed to start games. Showed a lot of creativity despite us only having about 1 shot on goal.

Cox - 6 - Again did OK when he came on, but he didnt really have anyone to pass the ball to when he tried to go forward

Robinson - 5 - looked a bit disheartened for some reason, at least got a shot on goal, and one cross which we won a corner from,

Couldnt pick an MOM, nothing stood out

kuipers:- 5:- pretty good, awesome save just before the goal, kicking into the wind wasn't great but then their keeper had the same problem

whing:- 4:- pfft

elphick:- 4:- one appalling clearance which ended up nearer to the goal than when he started

the hawk:- 4:- not great

richards:- 4:- positioning is poor, often left their right sided players which acres of space, but generally good in the tackle

anyinsah:- 5:- the only player who looked vaguely threatening, but in the end was just running around without too much of a purpose

savage:- 4:- average, did the defensive midfield role ok, nothing special though

el-abd:- 4:- put himself about a bit, typical el-abd really

thomson:- 4:- was he playing?

mcleod:- 4:- pfft

virgo:- 4:- out of position, but 'meh'

cox- 4

And Smith Did Score!
Kuipers - 6 - Took 35 mins to realise he wasn't gonna get the ball into the mix kicking against a 40mph gale. Saves made up for it.

Whing - 6 - Was at fault for the corner that led to the goal. Could've provided the outlet for Kuipers to pass to on the right but not in the Adams book of tactics.

Elphick - 5 - Needs a haircut

Hawkins - 6 - did okay

Richards - 6 - looked good for a change, particularly when retrieving the ball from the stand after every Kuipers first half kick out.

Thomson - 4- If he'd needed a lift back to Falkirk we'd have gladly dumped him there on the way home.

El-Abd - 6 - Better at right back when we had some shape. But isn't an overlapping full back either

Savage - Jobbie, jobbie, jobbie - 1 - Was the cause of our woes. You can't blame the conditions.

Anyinsah - 7 - Too small to play up front or in the hole. Use his pace! Had the best effort of the game though against the bar.

McLeod - 6 - Needs to get match fit

Virgo - 6 - Never gonna be a lone striker

Subs:
Thornton - 6 - Looked okay

Cox - 6 - Played out of position but didn't give up

Robinson - 7 - tried to play his socks off and could,ve made the difference if one of his efforts had beaten the keeper.

I'd say he saved it with his legs or it hit his body, don't think it caught him in the face
I think he took one in the face and the ball went back out to their striker who looked certain to score until Chef blocked the follow up effort with his legs.

Lily doesn't cut the mustard because by now he should be standing out as a class player. Other Brighton fans keep saying that the reason he is made to look very average or just plainly shit , is that he expects surrounding players to be making an effort to support him which isn't happening. To me , personally , he is past his sell by date and on the downward slope to oblivion.

Have watched The Championship over and over again but cannot determine who it was that Kyle outjumped by about 2 ft at the back post to score the goal.
It was Lily shortly before that who was poncing about , falling over and not getting a tackle in , which led to the cross.

It was Hawk who got outjumped , not easy to recognise when his nose is obscured by the camera angle
