In the very fortunate position today [whilst enjoying the glorious splendour of The South Downs between Shoreham and Brighton] of having a good chum text me with his musings from Carlisle:

15:15 - 'All Carlisle. Great save from CA'

15:39 - 'Another near miss. Carlisle forward booked for diving.'

16:03 - 'CU are a good side. We look a bit lightweight in comparison. Our best spell just before h/t.'

16:20 - 'Barnes and Baz on for LL & Bennett. Beginning to take control.'

16:31 - 'Baz nearly scored a screamer from 35 yards.'

16:32 - 'We look the more likely now. Murray nearly scored.'

16:33 - 'Peppering the goal!'

16:50 - 'Great chance in inj. time. Free header for Barnes straight at Keeper.'

Better than 'BBC Sussex' and 'Seagulls Player' put together, but the best thing out of it all is that - at last [see 16:20]- we seem to have a Plan B.

That is all [phew!]

I thought Gus was quite imaginative last season with his tactics and substitutions. We've played 4-3-3 before, but usually set up as more of a 4-5-1. 4-4-2 this season too and in one game last season we seemed to end up playing two at the back. 7 out of of our 8 goals have come in the second half of matches - he's not afraid to change things and given the squad now we have options. The only thing we seem to be missing is a little bit of a pace up front (unless Holroyd comes good...)
