First thing to do is bring it up in 'Safe mode' (Press F8 when it starts to load Windows and select 'Safe Mode'. If the screen comes up in VGA mode from there (the resolution will be 640 X 480) it's the graphics driver. Failing that check the monitor connections. If that doesn't fix it then it could very well be that your monitor is intercoursed.

If it's a CRT monitor(not flat panel) and is a few years old it sounds like one of the colour guns has gone in the tube which means get yourself down to staples and buy a new monitor

It could be the cable - one of the pins may not be firing. Take it out and make sure there are no bent pins. If it is a CRT monitor, try a degauss if it is in the menu.

Best way to test is to try your monitor on another PC - if it is still yellow, it rules out your PC and means either the monitor or cable are bust. If the cable is moulded at the monitor end, there isn't much you can do. If it plugs into the monitor, borrow another one and see if the problem goes away.

Thanks everyone, i restarted and it temp, sorts itself out then flickers again, seems fine at present:wave:

Then it's either your cable or your graphics card. As I say, worth trying on another machine to pin down where the problem is. Normally, these problems are either a bent pin or a broken wire within the cable that makes sporadic contact.
