The presenter of BBC's racing coverage, Clare Balding, has confirmed she is gay, after she attended the premiere of a new film with her partner last night.
Balding was pictured in The Sun attending the London premiere of Seabiscuit with Alice Arnold, and confirmed last night that the two were an item.
The paper reports that she has been seeing Alice, who is the ex-girlfriend of comedienne Sandi Toksvig, for four months.
They apparently met through their love of horse racing, which is fitting, since Seabiscuit is the story of a racehorse that captured the imagination of depression era America.
"It is true. I don’t wish to say anything further," Balding told the newspaper about the relationship.
The 32 year old has been with the BBC for over 10 years, and is widely regarded as one of their experts on horse racing, although she has also fronted shows from Wimbledon and the Atlanta Olympics.
Her girlfriend, Anne Arnold, is the voice of Radio 4's shipping forecast.
