our best midfielder today - hopefully he can stay fit for the season as he looked like he can step into o'callaghans place quite easily

He played with bags of confidence. Excellent game. Presumably subbed due to lack of match fitness. Loft did very well when he came on as replacement.

With Hammond picking up an injury it could be Reidy and Loft on Saturday.

would imagine fraser will be back in if he recovers from his illness

I suppose Tommy would get the nod ahead of loft to start, if he is fit.
But with the competition Wilkins and his staff are creating who knows.

Paul Reid.

I have ALWAYS rated him and thank god O'Callaghan has gone so he can play in his natural position.

Well done Reidy!

Let's not go over the top. He had a decent and encouraging game but hardly dictated the play against an average Bournmouth team.

Not in the same league as O'Callaghan.

Exactly what we've been missing - a midfielder who didn't disappear in the middle of the match.

I thought he was excellent today and I was disapointed to see him go off.

This is the same Paul Reid that loads of people were writing off as dead wood along with Harty and Mayo?

It's good to see him back and playing as well as he ever did. An experienced midfielder and it showed today.

I wasn't at the game today, so won't comment on Reid's performance, but I think it is wrong for people to start slagging of O'Callaghan just because he isn't coming back and Reid had a good game today. O'Callaghan was a model professional in his time with us and a great player for us. I still think we will miss him, unless we bring in another midfielder.

Considering he hasn't started in God knows how long I'd say he did really well. I would however prefer O'Callaghan though but Reidy will do nicely as George will never return :nono:
