It's a new stadium. Plastic football fans (and kids etc) want to watch football in a shiny new stadium. It's a novelty thing. Any team that gets a new stadium has an increase in crowds for a while.

It has nothing to do with your future (about as assured as ours) nor does it have anything to do with your chairman.

How many years you gonna use that excuse for?

Yep. Cause every Palace fan is obviously from Croydon and every Brighton fan is from Brighton. No, not a massive club but still bigger than your plastic, tinpot shower.

In your f***ing dreams you are a bigger club.

You may have been bigger whilst your poxy outfit was cheating all and sundry out of monies owed to them and we were shackled by a Gillingham ground share and 12 years at Withdean. You, me and all of football can see that the tables have turned. We have a season ticket waiting list-you rely on Groupon, lamp post advertising and buy 1 get 2 free offers. Yep, you really are the bigger club now.

It won't be long before your home gates drop to the 6440 level they reached in 84/85. Face it, your bubble has burst and with the clowns running your outfit you'll be lucky to be in League 1 in 2 years time.

Let me define 'plastic fans' for you.

CPFC:

Average Palace Home Crowd Season 1979 - 80 = 29,523 (old Div 1)
Average Palace Home Crowd Season 1984 - 85 = 6,440 (old Div 2)

I'd say that defines 'plastic fans' better than anything. 23,000 'plastic' fans or do you have a CPFC2010 type explanation as to where they all went?

There seems to be a recurring set of rules to post on here as a palace no mark. 1. Ignore the fact that we have had 2 of the highest attendances in the championship for two games running, call it tinpot and plastic despite the Albion regularly getting gates of 30000+ the last time we had a stadium capable of holding such crowds. 2. Spout off incessantly about your panic signings as if they are all Lionel f***ing messi 3. Believe everything the used car salesman Kim Il Parish gobs off on twitter and lap it up like the kid that has no friends when spoken to by the bigger boys. 4 Claim every palace player would crawl over hot coals to play for palace and slit their wrists rather than play for anyone else.

YOU CANNOT POLISH A TURD, PALACE HAVE 0 POINTS AND ARE BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE! That's all that matters and all we care about, no amount of spin doctoring or your Parish tainted wankfestery will change that. Just f*** off and go out of business why don't you.

Bloody hell. Palace are the best team in the whole f***ing world. Anyone who disagrees is an ignorant, JEALOUS nob!

ZAHA is the best player the world has ever seen, who glides over the turf like a ghost over a misty lake. He draws fouls from everywhere, even when, at first glance, it seems as if there was no contact. However, if one looks through a spectrometer they will see the figure of Zaha tends to be taken out by the beings of the ethereal realm he appears to inhabit a lot of the time. Truly the love of my life and anyone who can't see the beauty of Winifried is a bloody scumbag TWAT

'Seaside (or Seaside Eagle as he is known on BBS) has more delusions, illusions and conclusions than a visionary who is a very visionary thing!
According to him they have the brightest young manager in the league...would this be the manager that fans are calling for him to go.
They have the best young goalkeeper in the league... is this the same goalkeepers who has let in two howlers that even Gonzalaz would've saved.
They have the Best player in the division who would not leave Palace for less than £10m and is worth more than the whole of the Brighton team put together...(BBS). The same player whose whole contribution this season is to dive in the area and has won two penalties....surprising really never expected that!
5Zero ...(Was your name taken from when we beat you 5-0)...is just as bad...'not a massive club but bigger than your tinpot shower'...really...our future is on the way up...yours....how low can you go.....who have'nt got a point on the board, who have conceeded 9 and are BOTTOM of the league.
There are Palace fans who are leaving a sinking ship..one guy (season ticketholder at Smellworst) has put on their forum that him and his two mates are not going again, they went to Doncaster and watched Crawley instead....plastic palace fans.
To be honest I don't think' Seaside' has been going too long either...yes of course we have new fans...more than Palace have...but that only proves more people want to see a better style of football...in a better stadium...we have'nt had the best run club at times...but we have always paid our bills...even selling a good player to keep the club going and we have'nt offered to pay pence in the pound.

That's a great stat. I look forward to hearing about their even more exciting new signings this week. I am expecting a Barnsley reserve, a player released from the Cyprus league who had a trial at Berwick and failed there and a reserve from Birmingham. This will then lead to them restricting Wednesday to only 3 goals on Saturday and calling it progress!

Maybe they should sign Gonzalez actually as judging from what I have seen of Speroni this season he might be an improvement.

I've enjoyed watching Speroni this season and last.

Fair to say his best days were two or three seasons ago :lolol:

That is indeed a great stat, I however prefer this one.

1979 Palace v Burnley Att: 51,700
1984 Palace v Wimbledon Att: 4,005

Four and a half years and just one relegation in that time, and the gate drops by 47,700.

No-one does plastic like Palace.

Brightons support is “tinpot” when compared to Palace – you are having a laugh !:lolol:

Since the end of the Second War when the two clubs have shared a division and a similar sized stadium (ie Goldstone & Amex : Selhurst) the Albion average larger home crowds. Something which is set to continue by about 10k a game at the moment.

When Palace stood on the brink of liquidation just two years ago you gathered less than 200 fans to protest at a venue just 10 miles from Selhurst.

Just prior to this what could have been your final home fixture saw more than 10,000 empty seats at Selhurst.

You consistently, over the years, take less away fans to away grounds than us despite the fact you are geographically advantaged .

You failed to sell out your allocation of 700 tickets at Withdean for the first meeting of the teams for years.

Last season for your two “big derby games” at home versus Albion & Millwall you limited away fans to less than 3k but still had over 9,000 home seats unsold for each game. For the Millwall game your fans had a police escort to Selhurst for their “own safety” – for the Albion game your fans had to kept in Selhurst for their “own safety”.

Last season for a major cup semi final at home you reduced your capacity and were still selling tickets for home fans right up to kick off.

You put up posters pleading…………………………………… oh I could go on but the battle is won. :ffsparr:

. And I referred to you as tinpot as any club that jumps from 6000 to 20,000 + in the space of a year, obviously is. And you know it's true.

No the height of "tinpot" is when there is a real danger of your club folding and only 200 can be arsed to go/ find their way to a meeting/protest. I imagine Yeovil could have done better in the same set of circumstances.

Just checked our average away support over the last 3 seasons 2009/10 = 748 , 2010/11 = 1,217 , 2011/12 = 1,671 put that alongside the figures from Palace , 989 , 1,203 and 1,364 and it's not hard too see which club is on the slide to oblivion.
