Palace, Brighton & Mansfield to win play offs...

Let me take you back to season 1976-77 when Palace just squeezed into the third place promotion slot in the old 3rd Division (straight 3 up in those days) after beating Wrexham 4-2 away.

The other promoted clubs that season were Mansfield and Brighton.

Fast forward 27 years and we have Mansfield in the 3rd Division play-off final, Brighton in the 2nd Division play-off final and of course Ian Dowie's boys in the 1st Division play-off final.
