Adelaide United FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Lloyd Owusu on a two year deal after the striker passed a medical test in Perth yesterday.

The announcement is a significant coup for The Reds, with the Hyundai A-League club beating a number of offers from other potential clubs in securing Owusu’s signature.

A shame (if true) but much better it happens now and we can recruit accordingly.

We'll do well to sign someone who'll better his goals/game ratio for us

a real shame he had a great record for us and was a real honest pro. Good Luck Lloyd thanks for the memories.

Why do always lose these type of players, the awkward goal scorers? Exactly the kind of player that thrives at the level we are at. It's annoying.

Iwelumo, as Uncle Buck points out, was the same. Both more effective players than they got credit for.

Yeah, he was always open and honest about it; he wanted two years and he wanted regular football, it's not like he strung as along. Thanks for everything Lloyd and good luck in Australia.

Not too worried, we should be able to replace him with a like for like big bustling striker easily enough if we have the funds. I'm just glad he's gone to Adelaide and not another League 1 team as they always seem to come back and score against us when they do.
