This is NSC, here is how it will be spun:

Man u have signed him as back up, by next season they will have signed more players and will realise they don't need him in their 25 man squad, so he will go out on loan, and his love of horses been he and Bloom are BFF so he'll still come to us.
It makes it more likely, actually. Before we'd have to fund his £60K p/w wages, now he's signed to Man U we'll only have to pay a token portion of that when he comes to us on loan.
